The Black Venus Inn, Challacombe, Exmoor
The Black Venus Inn; Food is served 7 days a week, lunchtime and evening and a choice of roasts on sundays.
Fresh fish is available daily.
Believed to be the only inn in England bearing this name, The Black Venus Inn is a splendid old stone-built pub that enjoys a wonderful situation in the Exmoor National Park.
Inside, this historic 16th century building is full of Devon character and charm with low ceiling and original beams.
There are many circular Exmoor dog walks that start from the pub and take in the beautiful village. The lovely little river Bray is crossed by a footbridge and a ford. Many walks take in the historic Packhorse Bridge and Challacombe Church.
Here at the Black Venus Inn we are very passionate about beer. We always have at least two local cask ales on tap, and we pride ourselves on keeping them in tip-top condition so that every pint, from the first to the last of the barrel, tastes as good as it can do.
But you shouldn’t just take our word for it – We are featured in The Good Pub Guide
